   Create customised ToolTips

Trial Version | Ordering | Order Online

ToolTip Foundry allows a developer to add Tool Tips to windowed controls.

ToolTips are hidden most of the time. They appear automatically, or pop up, when the user pauses the mouse pointer over a tool. The ToolTip appears near the pointer and disappears when the user clicks a mouse button or moves the pointer away from the tool.

ToolTip Foundry creates balloon ToolTips, displayed in a cartoon-style "balloon", with rounded corners and a stem pointing to the tool. They can be either single-line or multiline. The illustration shows a multiline balloon ToolTip with the stem and rectangle in their default positions.

ToolTip Foundry is a free standing component, distributed as a 32 bit ActiveX DLL and reusable in any number of applications. ToolTip Foundry is an extension to your application's Object Model. You use ToolTip Foundry just as you would any of the standard classes, by setting its properties and calling its methods. When you add ToolTip Foundry to a project or document, it becomes part of the development and run-time environment and provides new functionality for your application.

ToolTip Foundry leverages your capabilities as a developer by giving you easy access to Tool Tips whilst retaining your familiar programming environment.

ToolTip Foundry supports any control that has a window handle; Lotus Controls and Microsoft Visual Studio Controls for example. It cannot be used with lightweight (windowless) controls like those in Lotus SmartSuite and Microsoft Office applications.

All Northwind products are licensed on a per-developer basis and include a royalty-free runtime distribution licence. This simple approach frees companies from the accounting complexities of runtime fees and royalties. Simply purchase a development licence for each person using the product and get a royalty-free runtime licence included at no extra charge.

ToolTip Foundry requires knowledge of a programming language such as LotusScript or Visual Basic but you don't have to be a developer yourself to enjoy its benefits. Northwind IT Systems provides comprehensive consulting and development services to help you achieve your project goals.

With ToolTip Foundry you can:

  • Create ToolTips and bind them to controls.
  • Set the tip text and word wrap length.
  • Set the ToolTip background and text colours. Includes helper function to translate RGB colour to OLE_COLOR.
  • Set the ToolTip title text and icon.
  • Destroy ToolTips.
